SEO Specialist

About This Role

We're hiring an SEO Specialist to grow our organic search presence and establish RareCustom as the authority in custom merchandise. You'll own our technical SEO, develop keyword strategies, and work cross-functionally to ensure every page we publish is optimized for maximum visibility.

What You'll Do

• Conduct in-depth keyword research and competitive analysis for custom merchandise verticals
• Develop and execute technical SEO improvements including site speed, structured data, and crawlability
• Monitor search rankings, organic traffic, and conversion metrics across all product categories
• Optimize existing content and landing pages for improved search performance
• Build and maintain our internal linking strategy to strengthen topical authority
• Manage our XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical URLs, and other technical SEO elements
• Conduct regular site audits to identify and fix SEO issues (crawl errors, duplicate content, etc.)
• Collaborate with engineering to implement SEO best practices in new feature development

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on SEO experience with demonstrated results in traffic growth
• Strong proficiency with SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console)
• Deep understanding of technical SEO including structured data, Core Web Vitals, and JavaScript rendering
• Experience with Hub-and-Spoke content models and topical authority building
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript for implementing SEO changes
• Analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable recommendations
• Experience with Google Analytics 4 and data visualization tools
• Understanding of local SEO, image SEO, and video SEO best practices

Nice to Have

• Experience with e-commerce SEO and product page optimization
• Knowledge of programmatic SEO and dynamic page generation
• Familiarity with Next.js, React, or other JavaScript frameworks from an SEO perspective
• Experience with link building and digital PR strategies
• Certifications in Google Analytics or SEO tools
