About Aisha
Aisha Patel brings a rare combination of materials science expertise and environmental passion to RareCustom. With a Master's degree in Textile Engineering from North Carolina State University's Wilson College of Textiles—one of the top textile programs in the world—and a B.S. in Materials Science from Georgia Tech, Aisha approaches custom merchandise from a molecular level up.
Before joining RareCustom, Aisha spent seven years in the textile industry. She started as a materials analyst at a major athletic apparel brand, where she tested fabric performance under extreme conditions—heat, moisture, UV exposure, and hundreds of wash cycles. She then moved to a sustainable textile startup where she helped develop recycled polyester blends and water-based ink formulations that reduced environmental impact by 60% without sacrificing print vibrancy.
Aisha holds certifications from the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) and is a certified Sustainability Practitioner through the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP). Her research on eco-friendly dye sublimation processes has been published in the Journal of Textile Science & Technology.
At RareCustom, Aisha oversees material selection, garment durability testing, and the company's sustainability roadmap. She personally evaluates every fabric supplier, tests ink adhesion across different materials, and ensures that RareCustom's eco-friendly product lines meet genuine environmental standards—not just marketing claims. Her philosophy: "The best custom product is one that looks amazing on day one and still looks amazing after fifty washes."
She writes RareCustom's technical content on fabrics, materials comparisons, garment care, and sustainability—translating complex textile science into practical advice that helps customers choose the right materials for their projects.
Outside of work, Aisha is an avid hiker who has completed 30 of Colorado's 14ers, tends a dye garden where she grows plants for natural textile dyes, and volunteers with Fashion Revolution promoting transparency in the garment industry.
